Curtis Anderson

Artist, Rising Artists Showcase

Seattle-based bass-baritone Curtis Anderson holds a B.A. in vocal performance from Lawrence University where he studied under John Gates. A native of Minot, North Dakota, Curtis has performed with Western Plains Opera Company in numerous productions from his very first production as a child running around the set of operas that went (literally) way over his head to sharing the stage with the lead roles as Benoit and Alcindoro (La boheme) and covering Il Commendatore (Don Giovanni).

Recently, Curtis has been featured on YourClassical Radio with a recording of “Mushroom Songs” a family-and-friends collaboration between himself, Minot-based composer Erik Anderson, pianist Dianna Anderson, and poet Mya Temanson. Curtis has sung with choral groups in the Pacific Northwest such as Seattle Bach Choir, Opus 7, and Illumni Men’s Chorale. Curtis can be found every Sunday singing under the direction of Elisabeth Ellis at First United Methodist Church in view of the iconic Space Needle. He currently studies voice in the studio of Darrell Jordan.
